Garnet heishi gemstones are lovingly hand knotted onto red silk and finished with a sterling silver clasp. 16" with 2" silver extender at the clasp for the perfect fit.
Red garnet has been prized since ancient times for its beautifully rich, deep red color. As the January birthstone, it is associated with power, passion, and prosperity. The name "garnet" comes from the Latin word “granatum” meaning “seed,” due to the gemstones' resemblance to the bright red seeds of a pomegranate.
The beautiful shape of the Heishi is inspired by the traditional bead designs of the Kewa Pueblo people of New Mexico.
Handmade by Evan Knox in her Nashville, Indiana studio.
All of our jewelry comes boxed and ribboned, ready for giving (or keeping)!
