Mother Love's Garden
Mother Love's Garden provides affordable organic produce and hands-on education to grow food for the long-term health and wealth of the community. As part of Indiana Black Farmer Co-op, Mother Love's Garden engages youth in activities and programs that foster cooperative community farming.
This Silver Linings Fund grant helped them complete their summer camp project of building container gardens at 1047 W 33rd St.
Deborah's Daughters
Deborah's Daughters work to provide housing assistance, outreach services and financial literacy for women and single mothers. They're a small, African-American operated, grassroots nonprofit organization that equips women with tools to succeed, provides resources and helps develop strong support systems.
This Silver Linings Fund grant helped to build a website so programs are easier to access for individuals and families in crisis.
Flanner Farms
Flanner Farms is a community-focused farm and food justice program addressing food insecurity and offering an abundance of healthy, affordable, culturally appropriate produce for Indianapolis's near northwest side/Riverside community, while also helping to bridge the connection between farm and food.
This Silver Linings Fund grant helped their needs for a physical farm stand and the accessories necessary to display and package produce.
The Riley Center
The Riley Center’s mission is to create youth who will inspire a positive change for this world. TRC’s after-school program for students K-8 in Pike and Center Township teaches reading, writing, math, science, creative expression, team building and fitness. Alongside academics, TRC teaches strategic thinking, social and emotional skills to growing minds.
This Silver Linings Fund grant helped pay for the training and retention of TRC’s after-school program educators. TRC realizes that it takes highly dedicated individuals to address today’s educational challenges. Retention and continuity of quality services is a proven factor in promoting trust and engagement among students.
Grassroot Projects
"Small projects. Big dreams."
Grassroot Projects empowers under-resourced immigrant children in the Indianapolis and Seattle areas. For immigrant, refugee and undocumented families, parents are most concerned with feeding and clothing their children.
This Silver Lining Fund grant helped provide direct support in the form of grocery gift cards because only when children's basic needs are met, are they given the chance to thrive, achieve success and simply enjoy their childhoods.
The Little Timmy Project
"Improving outcomes for Indiana’s mothers & infants, one community at a time."
The Little Timmy Project is committed to filling the gaps in maternal health care through the Little Mom Shop, a free pantry with accessible resources for folks who are pregnant and parents with young children.
Growing Places Indy
Grow the World You Want to See. Growing Places Indy is cultivating a more just and equitable food system, from farm to market to families.
With a mission to empower the cultivation of wellness through urban agriculture, access to fresh local food, and mind-body education, Growing Places Indy is using Silver Lining Funds for Double SNAP: a program that offers a 1-to-1 match on SNAP dollars at participating farmers' markets. In other words, for every dollar spent using SNAP/EBT, customers get twice that amount to buy food.
Women4Change Indiana
Women4Change Indiana starts by activating Hoosiers to get involved—whether that be by learning about local legislature, volunteering their time for a cause they believe in, or simply committing to educating themselves on issues across Indiana.
This Silver Linings Fund grant helped support conferences & expert panels on issues impacting Hoosier families such as pay equity, human trafficking and sexual assault; civics education for high school students; l Tendedero (The Clothesline) Project that brings art and advocacy together; W4C Collegiate chapters; and more!
